X1 on the streets?

I saw an x1 today and wasn't aware they were in the US yet, until now. It's still not on BMW NA's website... I thought the release date was the end of 2012 ? Anyone know what the story is?

Have seen a few of them on the road here in Toronto (with regular plates, not dealer plates). I guess they are available in Canada already, if not the US. Maybe u saw a Canadian X1?

I don't really like any of the X-whatevers. Still waiting for this SUV craziness to pass!

X1?

Looks like an X3 and an M-coupe had a baby with down syndrome.

I actually like it, minus the plastic accents around the wheel wells, which make the wheel gap look massive IMO

Also seen one here locally in Alberta. It had regular plates on it and I thought it looked great! it was Alpine White.

What is it I don't understand? It looks like an x3.
Is there a new market for an suv that can't do anything an suv is supposed to? I just don't understand what this is. Kinda like I don't understand what the new Audi a7 is.
