Need suggestions...

I keep getting a "service engine soon" light on my '01 325ci. It seems to do it whenever I use my a/c. Also I am about due for an oil change and I'm hoping this is the issue! I just find it too much of a coincidence that it happens with the a/c.

I take mine in whenever I get such a light, though it's only happened once and it was an alternator issue. As I understand it, the dealer computers are the very best at reading your car's computer and identifying the problem. Small or large, it would seem to me like you want an expert to diagnose/solve it.
