Do facelift sedans use smaller angel eyes than the rest? Khoalty AEs don't fit... - Page 2

I forgot to ask, is it common for people with facelift e46s to run into clearance problems with the AEs? I have a feeling it is bc ive heard of alot of people shaving the bezel down to make them fit

I turned off my Angel eyes. These stuff is getting gimicky these days. Not cool anymore.

thats what im thinking. I'm going to pull the headlight apart again later and inspect. Maybe just bring it upstairs into my apartment so i can take my time measuring. It seems the facelift sedan needs modification. In which case, I think Khoalty and any other vendors should state this on their website for facelift sedans.

While some may have to shave it down just a bit to make it fit, if you look at E46Mango's angel eyes, you can clearly tell that they are NOT meant for his car. Look at how huge the ring is! It doesn't even fit his bowls correctly! He would have to shave down a bunch of plastic for it to fit!

man now you're making me wonder if i should even cut my bezel. i'm fine with 1 or 2mm but it seems these things need lots of room to clear, especially when the auto-leveling function tilts down. Where is Khoalty in all of this? Are you simply going to issue me a refund but still continue to sell angel eyes with knowledge that they don't fit facelift sedans? This needs to be addressed.

I just received mine from umnitza and all the rings are rhe same size.. So now when im putting the bazel back to the headlight it wont fit the rings are bigger than it... So what did you guyz did?? I dont want to send it back etc

Thats precisely why i ditched them. they dont seem to fit. you have to modify the bezel and even then its dodgy. just forget them. car looks WAY better without it

Mine fit pretty good but you have to really fiddle with the placement alot until you get it right.

i honestly dont see how you guys are having trouble unless these $130 are different then when i bought them for only $50(almost 3 years from now haha.). still run fine and fit perfectly on mine.

I know what he means by the bezel and the ring clearance. If you think the the ring that mounts to the projector is going to have that gap like the high beam does it wont. But there should be at least a quarter inch of play between the bottom of the bezel and the ring. And that is just enough play for the autolevel to clear if not touch just a tad bit.

Haha i figured that out after adjusting them in my garage for about 3 hours no joke. Im a perfectionist and finally i just sat there and said "ok i guess thats the best i can possibly do!" then closed the lenses. Rofl

umnitza has the new Orion V4 out now that has 120 leds in one ring instead of the V2 that has only 60... just saying.

You might have more luck with Umnitza as thir Orion v2/v4 run quite a bit smaller diameter ring.

Yeah my khoalty angel eyes are already sooo bright, i wouldnt want anything brighter and they look very crisp.
