What you do is go to radio shack and get yourself a book that lists all the frequencies around LA that you want to listen to. Then program them into the scanner and listen.

I will need the model number prior to buying. I need to see if it can be modded to scan all freqs since scanners sold nowadays have certain blocks of freqs disabled.
