I'm pretty sure ever E46 in america has the same type of door.

When you lock the doors to your car, there is a little pin that shoots out and locks the gas door too. Try it, maybe yours is broken? This is why i tease...

I remember locking the doors to my car at the pump and sitting there for like 5 minutes trying to figure out why my fuel door wouldn't open. Felt like such a tool when I had to use my phone to look for a solution haha....fml

I took off a tire to plug a leak this afternoon and noticed my rears are almost toast, fronts are only 60% worn though.

Tires were bought new from Town Fair and installed on 5/15/10 at 114k. Car currently has 138k and I took them off for winter.

27K minus winter miles. Sounds like you got your money's worth out of the rear summer tires.

I would say I got 20k out of them max. Hankook V12's. They were only ~$100 a tire so I'd say yes, money worth. I'd be curious to hear what others got for mileage though, I know a lot of board members run these.

Word. Those are just rears, fronts are still good. Might even rotate them next spring and get another season out of these rears by putting them up front.

I'd be ecstatic if I got 20K miles from rear tires. In general, I go through 1 set of fronts for every 2 rears. I think I get 12-15K miles out of the rears. I'd have to check my maintenance spreadsheet to be sure though.

This reminds me that I need to do something about "winter" tires for the STI. Thinking about going all-seasons year round on that car, but hate the thought of neutering the summer performance - but that's why I have the M3, right? I need more money.

Anyone rocking all-seasons year round?

I have federal 595 tires, sticky tire, I will see how they turn out on the mileage department.

Samwow, how the F do you go through a set of rears in 4-5 months?? I put mine on in Spring of 2010, rode all summer on them, then put them on again this year and there is still plenty of tread left on all 4 tires. None are wearing unevenly. I am on stock ZHP's 8x18 in front, 8.5 x 18 in back. I can tell you this though: when I had the SSR GT3 reps, they were 8.5x18 front and 9.5x18 rear, and had the exact same issue as you, rear inside corner was rubbed almost bare, while there was plenty of tread left on the outer edge. Same tire sizes as on the ZHPs. IMO, putting 255/35's on a 9.5 inch wide wheel will indeed stretch the tires and rub the inner edge ridiculously. I have pics I took of all 4 tires while I was dealing with my UUC TSE3 leak (story for another day). Rears are good all around, as are fronts, and no uneven wear. And I did the alignment in my driveway by adjusting the tie rods and driving around the block like 500 times!!!!

MightY, I am a 100% believer that unless you're near some REALLY steep roads, putting winter tires on your bimmer is a waste of money. Use All seasons, they grip fine, don't get all crazy, and they last twice or three times as long as winters!

BFG KDW2s FTW...they howl like a tank when the tread drops below 1/3-1/4, but they should last way more than 20k if they're not tracked, no matter how much you beat on them. On 2nd set and each one's probably gotten me at least 30k miles. Never had Pilots, but have tried most other tires in over 300k miles I've driven my 3 E46's. These are best all around non-winter tires IMO.

just did you detail in a bucket B888. Did you ever get your Z done or what?

So pissed. Noticed a HUGE like 4 inch crack in the paint on my passenger side of the rear bumper when I was waxing her. Some a$$hole must have tapped me while I was parked and then took off. So F&***** pissed. So pissed.

My rear bumper was the part of my car that i was most proud about for the paint since it was so flawless. Then like an idiot, I picked up a sheet of blu-board for my bathroom when I was re-doing it and it wouldn't fit all the way in, so it was hanging out the back a little, hit a small bump very slow and it cracked in half and left a star spiral mark near the bottom. Then my daughter leaves her bike in the driveway RIGHT behind my car so I couldn't even see it. Backed up over that piece for like 15 feet thinking to myself "why does it feel like my e-brake is on?" two more marks. And now this F**** crack, I am going to KILL SOMEONE!

then there's the rust...ARRGHHGHGHGHGHGHGHG.
