Nice! I've been following the big-dog project for years, and actually seen it drive by in the back of a pickup while I was on Quantico one time.

looks like alpha dog might be the way forward!

100 bucks says an oil company or auto company buys the patent and we never see it again.

I've always wanted to come up with something like this and give a big fvck you to the oil companies. It's a shame so many people get greedy and take the offers.

Then someone should go to the patent office, and send it to the Chinese.
They don't care about patent infringement.

Or you could post it in a public forum (if u invent it ) and let everyone use it.

Then win the Nobel Prize.

It would make more financial sense if they buy the patents then gimp the production of energy. Make it so that you need to continuously purchase new supplies to keep the technology working.

The fossil fuel business is very dirty and expensive (not just environmentally) so I think they have just as much of an incentive to find an alternative energy source that's cheaper and easier to manipulate while keeping their profit margins up.

Regarding the comet and the sun: According to NASA the comet had nothing to do with the CME, but damnit if they weren't timed perfectly.

Shine light on graphene, make electricity.
http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-10-...-response.html
Quote:
MIT researchers found that shining light on a sheet of graphene, treated so that it had two regions with different electrical properties, creates a temperature difference that, in turn, generates a current.
Holy sh!t: Liver cells turned into fully functioning neurons
Quote:
Fully mature liver cells from laboratory mice have been transformed directly into functional neurons by researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine. The switch was accomplished with the introduction of just three genes and did not require the cells to first enter a pluripotent state. It is the first time that cells have been shown to leapfrog from one fundamentally different tissue type to another.

Unbelievably cool footage from the ISS. I've seen a lot of shots of aurora's from space, but this clip takes the cake.
