I've sord of come up with a theory as to what happens when you die. Your body has real energy powering it. Synapses in the brain fire off electricity. I think it's energy suspended in brain matter that we call ourselves (our consciousness). I think when we die it's just another form of consciousness that's completely different than anything we can imagine atm(energy suspended in something else, in space?). All the proof is there that it is not just lights out and nothing.
reminds me of the quote "I have no doubt that in reality the future will be vastly more surprising than anything I can imagine. Now my own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose." by J.B.S. Haldane |

Coolest (like, temperature, not "that's cool man") planet ever directly imaged has been......imaged? AKA: We found a sweet earth-like planet outside of our own solar system.

Good short blog post about a recent article on string theory. String theory implies that we live in a multiverse that cannot be directly tested, so the best way to test the theory is to test for strings, but we can't test for strings because of the multiverse.

Yet another use for carbon nanotubes. This time they've put them in some sort of gel membrane that acts as a pressure sensor.

I don't know how they could transmit anything given the ridiculous magnetic fields the sun generates, never mind the heat.

Let them rotate in the planet's orbit until they crash land and film it live while it happens. No special landing gear, no bells or whistles. Just a camera to record what it sees. |

any of you guys watch curiosity on discovery channel? Really well done series. I watched on my dvr last night about living forever. They basically make up a story with adam savage myth busters dude and show how science now and in the future might be used to preserve our bodies.
