I would really like to get back into smart phones, but i cant find something i like with a qwerty. I've used many touch screens and I just don't like it as much as physical keys.

I would say this is the "best" qwerty smartphone that Verizon carries as I don't like the front face keyboard of any blackberry phone.
The build quality is nice on the Droid 3, pretty solid feeling slider. Haven't gotten crazy figuring out all the bells and whistles yet.

I think it comes with the latest Android (2.3.4?) if that matters to you.

Yeah, but $200 is $200. I'm pretty happy with what I paid, because I was watching them for a while and haven't seen used ones go for less than $1700.

I guess it's a matter of value. To me, $200 is worth having one with 0 clicks on the shutter. It's a moot point anyway though because I'm broke as fvck.

Yeah but at least you have that sweet bike.

I did seriously contemplate just getting a brand new one, but I am working on a close budget and the extra $200 is going towards lenses.

The high end dslrs hold their value pretty well. This body originally retailed for $2600, then Canon did a price drop to $2300 after a while. The mkiii is coming out within the next year so there are rebates and sales taking them down to $1900 occasionally. If you look on eBay, some used ones are still going over $2000. Which is why I'm happy at $1700.

And glass holds its value even better because when taken care of, it will perform just as well 5 years later as it did the day it was brand new.
