Just keep pumping every time you drive. After a while, it might get fixed by itself when the air bubbles work their way out from the car's vibration and motion.

How long does anyone think it will take for it to get the air out

It took mine a few weeks. But I didn't drive much. I thought it was a gonna and didn't try that hard to fix it. I just gave it an occasional pump to see if it's started working again. Suddenly, it did.

But it does work out of the box. You said you could hear it pumping.
I can't remember how long it took. It wasn't something that would strand me in the middle of nowhere in complete darkness while it's raining. So I didn't pay attention. I can suggest you live with it for a while rather than start tampering with the hoses. If they are old, they could well break. Then you will have plenty more broken stuff to play with. |

Unless you are infected with a washer virus by a shop like I did, there would unlikely to be anything but air bubbles in the line.

I replaced mine. Worked immediately. Shouldn't really be a whole lot of air, it's not as if you drained all the hose. Did you drain the reservoir when you replaced it? Gunk builds up in the bottom and can clog the pump. When I replaced mine I drained the tank and the last couple ounces had yellow sludge in it from the washer fluid. If all the electrical connections and hoses look fine, it might be a defective part.

Either sludge or a leak somewhere. It should work right away.

hey guys thanks for the replies. the issue was fixed upon driving down a huge hill. all of a sudden it jumped back to life and water squirted out. So I must have had air in the line

Luckily he didn't or he would be replacing the pump and hoses just now. It goes to show random internet voting on diagnoses and fixes by a bunch of clueless people doesn't work.
