Your Car takes About 7qt and That box is called DISA. It's probably broken and you should buy new one. Inexpensive part.

actually you can rebuild the disa if its broken. i read in a thread and watched a video of a guy do it so i figured i'd try it on my car. what happens is that valve is like a butterfly valve that changes the length of the intake at different RPM with engine vacuum. the part is made of plastic and it rounds out in the flap itself so you can take it apart and clean it with some intake cleaner and glue the flap to the control unit. if you want to save yourself $200 and dont mind doin it yourself then PM me and ill explain how to do it. i did it to my own car because mine was starting to make a chattering noise with the car running and after i glued it up it stopped making noise. did it to my cousins car to, she has a 530 with the same engine and hers was completely loose so after i did it she said the sound of the engine changed after i fixed it.

yeah i know but if he decides he wants to rebuild it, it would be pretty easy to clean off the mating surface and put a small coating of RTV or gasket maker on it to seal it, or he can just go ahead and buy the thing it doesnt really matter to me, just figured i'd give him another option
