Nav screen flicker

Hey guys

Little issue with my monitor. Sometimes it flickers, like a quick flicker every few seconds, other times its fine.

I noticed this maybe happening after the car battery went down and had to start car up with a battery charger thing ( could eb coincidence)

Monitor is a my04 model (gps)

Wondering if anyone has had this before?

I still have warranty on the car btw.

On another note, is there a way of updating the gps map on these things?

Not sure about the nav screen flicker, but your gps maps can be upgraded with a new map cd.

I was wondering this. Can I just download this and burn on to a dvd? Be great if anyone can link me or something?

But yeah really weird about this flicker thing.

Does the screen flicker only when you use the GPS? or does it flicker regardless of which mode it is in?

It's still happening. Happens randonly, even during the BMW logo. Noticed the TV options goes away and comes back again too.

Cars under warranty under a dealership in a different state though. To even diagnose it BMW want to charge 180/hr here and will take 2hrs. screw that.

See if you can take out the tv unit, and see if there is a loose connections. Worst case, you just get rid of the dinasaur and replace it with a dynavin. At least you will get more features for the extra $$ you spend.

Try disconnecting the battery and pressing the brake for ten seconds. Reconnect the battery and see what happens.
