I personally know many pharmacists have greater knowledge of the risks mixing drugs. Many have studied the effects of different prescriptions for many years, and in fact is a duty to cross reference the drugs listed by a patient, and contact the doctor who issued if a red flag is raised.

Also, they are the people in charge of filling your prescription correctly. Ever get a drug that isn't yours? It happens, rarely, but it happens. They have ultimate control over most controlled substances, and are obligated to contact authorities when they see the signs of an abuser.

Think about the ultimate power these people have in terms of the healthcare industry. They spend almost as much time in school, and certainly much more time than a nurse, RNA and many other "healthcare providers", yet are not allowed to give advice, and have to channel all questions through a nurse, with little to no real experience other than checking blood pressure, pulse, temperature and asking you to take your clothes off.

My wife is a tech at Target, and her boss clears $180,000 a year before bonuses. And this is small town PA... LA, NYC and other major cities would pull 3 times that easy.

Technically, they are not allowed to administer shots/medication. My wife is fully trained to do so, and has to give everyone their flu shots, and the pharmacist, which spent 6 years in school, and did a residency cannot...

It is more about untying the hands of a trained person according to the law.

You need to become a certified Pharmacist. Schooling is brutal, and long, and you are required and responsible for many lives.

Sure the money is great, but she commutes 150 miles a day, and works 80 hour weeks... Just saying.

Didn't sign. Pharmacists make enough money as is without being able to scam medicare/medicaid.

I hear kaputs wife is rich and she voluntarily commutes 150 miles every day and works 80 hours a week because she is so baller.

Doctors diagnose and prescribe...pharmacist double check the prescription. If your Dr prescribe you the wrong drug or strength...w/o a pharmacist your SOL.

Your reading comprehension skills are horrible. My wife is a Pharmacy TECH... Not a Pharmacist. Her boss makes $180,000 a year, commutes close to 150 miles a day and works 80 hour weeks (some are 40, most are 60, October through December is 80+).

I never once said my wife was a pharmacist, and further to the point, if she made $180,000 a year, do you honestly think I would own a 10 year old M3 with lighting problems?

And the "scam medicare/medicade" thing you have going on is BS. There is absolutely nothing they can do to scam anyone. Sure, there might be a few mom and pop shops that have the ability, but major chains are not easily capable (unless you are truly a scam artist, and have only the intent to steal from people). You and crazy cat lady would make a great couple.

Because that pharmacist didn't take a certification class to give shots. As a business point of view...its cheaper to have the tech spend time and give the shots.

Just an FYI - avg pharmacist salary is 120K....no pharmD is pulling over 250K without working 2 jobs
