Its because the turbo uses a divided T4 exhaust housing, so you need two wastegates to regulate boost pressure on both sides. Our turbos do not use a divided exhaust housing, hence only one wastegate. If you go back to the previous pictures, you can see where the exhaust manifold shows the divided section.

just to confirm, this is a bone stock motor???
What do you guys deem the limit of the stock unit and what fails first?? Pistons or Rods??? huh seems the s54 is the german 2jz afterall....

Its bone stock, about 35k miles on it. Many have claimed around 700hp to be the limit. Even more have been running 600ish on stock internals with no issues. Its a really solid motor.
