I donate to the FFRF on a regular basis. It's good to see them doing good work and calling out cities putting religious icons on public property.

Because we all know that's the biggest problem this country faces. Good on you.

Its a hell of a lot bigger problem than the economy. And the economy is no small problem, for example.

But, since we all know that it is a much bigger problem than the economy, I won't go into the whys and wherefores, since we all know them.

If we let the fundamentalist Christians have their way, we'd be living in a Country that discriminated against gays, ignored science, imposed religious morality on non-religious people and was perpetually at war with the "Muslims"..

Wait.. this sounds familiar..

Religion is humanity's cancer.

Oh I'm sorry. I don't remember saying that I donate to it because it's our country's biggest problem. I donate to it because it's an issue I care about. Thanks for judging my charitable donations though. I'm sure it's the most Christian thing you've done lately.

I don't know why it's a bigger problem than the economy, so please tell me the whys and wherefores.

I view "christmas" as the biggest economy stimulator of the year and nothing more. It literally means nothing to me. Glad to see it come and go. I guess society has determined that I am a "scrooge" for not buying into the bullshit?

Seriously? You can't work this out for yourself? It truly is painfully obvious. :sigh: OK..just this once.

Can the US survives with its current economic state and unemployment at 8.6? Yes. It survived even when the number were were higher, in the 13s.
(It is still nowhere close to the economic state and unemployment of the great depression. 4 solid years of unemployment over 15%, two of those over 20%. So things have been much worse in the history of the US economy)

The placement of religious icons on public property is a clearly detrimental to the constitutional rights of citizens. Any display of religious specific icons on public property is an action by the government of support of particular religion(s) is detrimental to the constitutional rights of its citizens. The US is not the US without the rights protected in constitution.

Ergo, the latter is "more important" than the former. Ergo, if both things are facing "problems", the problems of the latter are FAR larger than those of the former.

QED (quod erat demonstrandum)

If I had my way, every fool who went around went "merry christmas" on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through his heart.

All people are made of several different kinds of pudding. It's what your carcass is filled with. That's why humans (all mammals, actually) are so soft and cuddly.
