Smile Another e30 project (red manual 325e coupe)

I just got my son his first project car this past Sunday, a red 1985 bmw 325e coupe manual with straight six cyl engine. The guy that sold it to me took all the interior parts out and sold them (except the dashboard) he said he was going to make it a track car but ended up not having enough time to work on it and sold it to us ...

The good:
Car has very little or no rust,
Suspension is in good shape
Engine runs good
Manual trans all gears work OK
All matching 4 tires are almost new
Wheels not bad

The bad:
Door window glass motors bad (both sides)
Needs new paint job
Front driver side fender has a dent
Front bumper needs repair
Fuel system is trashed (needs new fuel pumps and injectors/gas tank cleaned)

pics:
Front view

Notice fender & bumper damage

Side view (notice wheels)

Back view (who wants to play soccer)?

Interior front

Interior back (temporary seat from pass side e46, does not fit but at least we can drive car)

These are the pics of some interior parts we picked up yesterday:

Center console

Door panels (two tone black/cinnamon or black/burgundy?)

Matching back panels

Glove box

Goal?

More updates soon...

Haven't had a chance to work on it, and I'm waiting on a deal for a new carpet so I can install all the panels and interior parts.
I'll post more pics soon...

I'd love to have a garage, with extra space for a project car. I've always love the lines of the e30, and would love to do this myself. OP, please post progress pics!

Just replaced the fuel pump cleaned gas tank and injectors, pump was seized but after that I still had starting issues.

There was a weird short to the solenoid wire that activates the starter, (took me like 8 hours to figure that out)
every time I would try to start the car it would run for a couple of seconds and then it would stall...
I replaced the wire from the solenoid to the ignition switch and Vrrroooommm! Engine runs nice and strong now.

Got the front sport seats but they will have to be re-upholstered, I want black leather with red side stitching. Also got a new front bumper.
I still need a carpet, back seat and a motor for the passg window (it wont roll up or down) so I can install the door panels and the rest of the interior parts.

Paint job is due in a week or two. I will get the whole car painted including bumpers and side mirrors Imola Red?

The parts:
Paid $50 for both seats but will need to be re-uphostered

Front Aluminum bumper. Not bad for $30 huh?

I think is going to look like this or better when Im done:

But I want these wheels with bmw center logo: Gold or Silver?

Updated pics coming soon...

The e30 just went to the body shop today for a whole car paint job! (same red color)

It will be a $1200 paint job with good quality paint and one of the best clear coats! My friend is doing this for me so I'm getting a discount of about $800 (it is actually a $2K job) he will paint the window trim flat black and fix ALL the big & small dents too!

Will post pics next week when I get it back.
The interior is still on the works, I still need a carpet a new dashboard, back seat and front seats re-done.

I drove it today on the freeway on my way to the body shop and took some sharp turns and this thing handles AWESOME!
