I have this exhaust and love it. I bought the whole system from the catback. Comes in three sections. I hated the sound with all three sections installed. I took out section two and used the OEM. Section one (rasp eliminator) works perfectly and the sound is deep and almost no rasp. Doesn't drone at all which is another important factor to think about.

Negatives:
1. Tips point downward -This may be caused by using the oem section 2. The section 2 that comes with the exhaust is adjustable with clamps so you might be able to adjust the length to get tips straight. Was excited to get it on and didn't really mess with adjusting it perfectly.
2. Section two makes it sound loud with alot of rasp - drove for a week and love/hated it.

Positives:
1. Sounds great - loud enough to know you have an exhaust, but not loud when cruising at a steady speed. Punch it and you hear it
2. Build quality is actually very nice minus the tips pointing down instead of straight out. All the welds look good
3. Cheap compared to other brands
4. Love the titanium tips - look way bigger than stock
5. This is the exact same exhaust as the AP (Agency Power) that sells for $1000. From what I can find out its even made in the same factory. It just gets a different logo on the tips.

Thanks allot for the reply. Im lrwtty positive I'm going to place an order for one of these tomorrow.

Just one more question, as I'm only going to get the exhaust does it still sound like it does without the section 1 and 2 just using OEM.

Thanks allot

No idea on how it sounds with just the muffler. I can tell you people say the agency power is loud and raspy with just the muffler. If you look at the design I would agree with what they say. I pesonally don't love rasp. Drove with it for a few years and although it grew on me I never loved it. I like deep low exhausts and will say its perfect for my taste with the rasp eliminator installed. It still has maybe around 10% rasp with it. If you only get the exhaust get ready to wake up the neighborhood.....lol. You can always add the rasp eliminator later.

Funny story. The guy I spoke to on the phone quoted me 480. Last night I was with my friends telling them about the exhaust. One guy asked if I called today and I said yeah. Apparently I was talking to him. I didn't know he worked there so today he's going to give me an even better price. Small world.

I was eyeing up this exhaust for a while now. I searched high and low for videos online to get an idea of the exhaust sound. Any chance someone s willing to post something with example??

Anyone know the weight of the axle back exhaust too?

Thx guys!

Do you have any side picture that shows the downward tip?

I'll try and take some pictures of the tips. I will also try and take a video of the sound on my phone. Not today though..car is in garage and can't move it right now.

Things to think about before getting this exhaust.

1. If perfect fitment of tips is important be ready to take it to an exhaust shop to have them readjust it or have them reweld them straight. You know if you OCD and if this will drive you crazy be prepared to make adjustments.
2. Without the rasp pipe it will be loud. Look up posts on the AP exhaust. Its the exact same design made in the same fatory. Sure there is plenty of videos on you tube with the sound.
3. Price - Unless you go with the other cheap ones out there it can't get any cheaper. Quality wise besides the tips it is well made. Welds look great and SS looks great with the Ti-Tips.
4. Brand - If you are into labels it might not be for you. Personally I could careless what the brand is as long as it sounds good and looks good(tips). The Megan racing brand is a love/hate depending on the car community that uses the product.

What I will say is that I was talking with the head of R&D at Megan trying to help them improve the sound. Was pretty cool to hear directly from them through e-mails. I was trying to get them to test out some new designs on my car. I will say just adding straight pipe into section 2 is the problem in their design and sound for the whole cat back. The stock OEM has an H pipe and an additional resonator. This is needed with this system. The H or Y portion is the most important. Without it you can hear the unbalance between both banks of cyclinders going back and forth. Tough to explain, but its noticeable.

I just got sick so I didn't order the exhaust. I'll get it next week when I feel better.

I'm new here, but I just picked up a 2002 M3 and I should be picking this exhaust up in the next month or so. I'll post back in here with my findings.

You need a rasp terminator. Otherwise you'll hate this exhaust.

According to the previous owner it does have a rasp eliminator. Hopefully it really does. I'll find out soon.

Axle back does not.
