Joining the FI world *Update Post 22*
I ordered my AA stage 1 kit two weeks ago. The wait is excruciating.
I thought I would create this thread to document the build. Also when I get the kit I will have the following items up for sale: 1. BMW performance intake with approx 600 miles on it. 2. UUC under drive pullies So far I have order a fuel filter and m3 motor and transmission mounts in preparation for the charger. What else should I do before installing?

Some gauges to keep an eye on the kit. The ati epod gauge holders and boost/ oil temp / afr are always great to have.

Depending on your cars mialeage and whether you've ever replaced it you might consider knocking out your VCG.

Awesome man. Welcome to FI. How many miles are on the car?. What type of transmission and differential do you have?. None of this should matter quite yet if you keep it at low boost stage 1. But if your over 100k miles I would recommend new rings on the pistons and a metal had gasket to stay safe. I would also recommend if you have an auto get a 3.64 diff from a Z4 for the heat exchanger. Just run rich and you should be a ok
. I would worry more about the drivetrain then the motor anyways if over 100k miles. I would also put in new rear trailing arm bushings and differential mounts.

Congrats on the purchase - the AA kit does come with a new mechanical belt tensioner.
Can't think of any other preperations, maybe add an air filter sock to help keep the dirt / rain off. Dibs on the intake - just PM me when you are ready to sell. |

aem uego gauges.. they look the best i think. and most inportant after you put in the blower and gauges have the car tune on a dyno .. before you fine tune the s/c make sure you have the gauges in the car so you can see how your engine is running..... bob ![]()

Nice man, welcome to the family! Glad to see another FI car in MD, we are a rare breed here in the MD/DC/VA area....
For gauges, I would go with what Scott offers for our rear view mirrors This is his website http://www.radar-mirror.com

Definitely the aem gauges. It's more accurate than any cheaper types. Lessons learned on my part.
