Legal Drag Racing Meet in NJ--for E46 Fanatics only

Updated:
Some random Sunday, probably in April. Visit Islanddragway.com and learn up on this. There are regulations...you must wear or rent a helmet.

Children under 18 must have signed Parental Consent form.

There is a tech inspection--I'll get details on what that entails, but I was told they follow NHRA rules...I haven't searched yet for more details.

Also, it seems like we'll be doing this only for e46 Fanatics, but we're working out the details on that still. Friends, family are of course welcome...spectators pay $15 (child rates lower); racers--I was told $35...seems to be $45 on the website...but depending on the size of our group...I'll see if I can negotiate a group rate.

If we have the numbers for it, we can get two dedicated lanes just for us. Nice, huh?

Back to original post...not updated!

Doubt you heard, but somehow it turns out that Be My Whip and I are going to race, legally, at a track.

No date set, but I'm planning on looking into Island Dragway in NJ...see if they can offer group rates. http://www.islanddragway.com/

Anyway, if you have any interest at all to do that some Friday night...which is when it seems they do Street Legal racing...just sign in and stay tuned in.

I'm thinking Springtime, but while I'm thinking about that, thought I'd post this.

If you just want to come and watch, I'm sure that's possible too.

Right now:

1. dmax '99 328i manual...195 hp @ 5500
2. Be My Whip 330 auto...225 hp + air scoop and pretty tires
3.

Only one stipulation... Lets use raceway park on a sunday.
opens 9am and $40 for 3 run
called test and tune trials.
Friday nights not good for me, We have the entire Sunday to chill, meet, and it will be daylight rather than evening out.

So... Racewaypark NJ on a Sunday!!!

I thought this other place would be more centrally located. Anyway, we don't have to lock in a place or time quite yet...it will be local and raceway park is further than this place for most I think.

I might get them to give us a better price too...and maybe set up a time on a sunday or something...I don't know.

Let's play it by ear...deal?

Just figured Im at 225 stock,
then 16-20 headers
and 5-11 CAI
Other improvement such as scoop upper and lower
going with middle numbers... lets say about 25hp for mods
total 250 (at the flywheel, not rear tires)
Just guessitaming; So anywhere from 246-256 low and high manufacture claimed HP figures (plus my scoops of course lol)
so I figure 250 sounds about fair.

You should dyno it.

Jeremy put down 232whp with headers, cat delete, magnaflow, and intake.
2001 330i.

I'll see if he wants to tag along when this goes down.

IM not sure but I also think my car might have had software installed by previous owner (dont tell doug) cause my redline often surpasses the 6500rpm redline when I gun it. goes to like 6800 or so. BTW looking to do the magnaflow with the quads when I get a chance and some spare $$$

BTW doug, since you sound so cocky, I will be doing a pre race inspection of your car; such as looking for hidden NOS bottles, diff swap (i know how to tell), and other upgrades you may not be forthcoming with lol. BTW, Im a big mean angry dude with powerlifting, bodybuilding, and Wing Chung Kung Fu background (but friendly unless need be) and hate cheats! Scared you didnt I? lolz hahahaha just messing with you. however, I really was a competitive bodybuilder and into kung fu. lol seriously, but I like car guys so dont worry. lol hahahaha
