E46 Dyno Thread

Damn, I gotta get new glasses in the morning. All that print looks fuzzy to me.

Honest 200 hp at the rear wheels is fine. Where are you going to go from here?
What's the bobble at just above 4000 rpm?

I rode with Merritt to the dyno, this is the exact dyno I used. Felt very good on the street! Got a good one!

Honestly, I don't feel it. From what I've read, its from the ECU retarding fuel to the engine, but people with that usually notice. I could be wrong. I'm still new to this BMW thing. :p

Future for this car is: shark injector, intake, and duel air scoops. Beyond that, we will see. Xi knows his stuff, so we will see where I end up with his help.

e30, m20B25 (stock with studs), 666 manifold adapter, GT3076R, and 15psi at that time. I made the mistake of assuming that a person who runs a shop and owns a dyno would know what they're doing. It probably could've made a little more power, and it could've lasted longer than the 300 miles it did.

That gasket is long-since replaced, and I'm closer to 10psi now. It's still a wild ride on the street. I DD it.

The shark is fine.

Burn your Krappy and Nasty intake with fire and buy something better. The two best (are both no longer made, you'll have to find a used one) are the Dinan CF long tube and the GruppeM.

For new options, go with the aFe stage II

EDIT: Your actually technically burning rich. Your numerical fuel to air ratio is below 13.0:1 up where you're making peak power. The ideal number is technically accepted to be 14.7:1, but that varies on some conditions including opinion.

What can happen is your intake can create a strange vortex (or something) in your MAF. When the MAF sensor reads incorrectly, it will adjust the engine incorrectly. do you think ill need a minor tune for the dinan throttle body?

I also heard mustand dyno's report low. is there any evidence to support this?

He has cams and a bigger throttle body. I'm pretty sure the Shark has consistently been the best tune.

Another good option is the cosmos V2 intake...you can buy it new and it's affordable, it is a true long tube cold air intake.

That intake looks like it might be pretty nice. It doesn't have a velocity stack though.

The 330 uses a larger diameter intake tube and MAF, so an adapter of some sort would be required to run that intake on a 330.

Not a fan of the AFE, I would have went with the cosmo racing intake with a better filter: Cosmoracing.com or cosmoracing.ca?

Engine is stock with the exception of headers (OEM Euro headers + cats). Tune is the latest available European tune. The numbers seem high to me (especially torque)

Results: 307.5whp/281.2wtq
Dyno type: Dynocom

I agree something is off there, seems improbable that it is producing 281.2 lb-ft of Torque.
According to that dyno sheet your car is putting out more HP and TRQ than a M3 CSL

Agreed - I'm going to get it redyno'd some day at another shop. Having driven my car back-to-back with a stock US M3, I am confident that I'm making more torque at some parts of the band, but not to the extent that the graph indicates. There was another M3 there that posted very similar numbers to mine (it had basically every bolt-on you can get besides for exhaust, + some software).

Weird thing was that other cars were getting lower than expected numbers (a friend's ZHP registered at only 180hp or so).
