38, went through lots of progressively less crappy cars to get to this one (started in '92 with an '87 Ford Escort 4-speed). Can't imagine how broke I'd be by now if my Escort were an M3 and I upgraded over 20 years from that. BTW kudos for saving up for a car when you're in school. However it's a different story when you also have to budget for mortgage, dependents, food, utilities, etc. If I could apply all my income to cars, I could buy a brand new 911 every year. Come to think of it I should just sell my house and move back in w/ my parents.

25, just paid for my M3 in cash. Owned a 325i for 8 years before that, which I made payments on. Nice upgrade

26. First BMW (325is) when I was 18, progressed since then. E46 M3 convertible for the sun, Range Rover when it rains.

For what it's worth I think any parent that buys their 16 year old an E46 M3 is a moron. Just sayin'.

As much as I agree it comes down to how much the parents trust the child, I always loved speed and cars so needless to say when I was getting my first car I could have bought a c5 z06 vette but my parents shot down that idea instantly
Now that I look at it I got into plenty of trouble in my vert and I probably would have killed myself in a vette at that time lol

What kind of job does a 16 year old going to high school have that can budget an m3 + insurance?

Heck I didn't get my 98 honda civic until I was out of school.

Anyway, 24.
