heater circuit

I was looking at a friends car this past weekend cause he said it was running sluggish.

Anyways, i hooked up inpa and read the codes, all of them were misfires on almost all the cylinders, and all of the o2 heater circuits were malfunctioning. So i cleared the codes and let it run for a little bit. I could tell that it was misfiring.

Checked the codes again and only the heater circuits came back as faulty, but its all the o2 sensors.

So my questions is, is there a relay that controls this? or a fuse?

Yes, it's 1 of the 30 amp fuses in the e-box, they're in the little black fuse block. I think there is 5 or so fuses in there. If 1 of them is blown, there is an issue, ie short circuit.

Ok so back to this, i checked it out and sure enough one of the fuses in there was popped, so i checked the wire coming from the o2 sensors and they were ok. So i checked the wires coming from the harness, and the second upper o2 sensor wires had melted together. So i cut out the bad part and spliced the wires back together, replaced the fuse. Started the car, and cleared the codes, let it run for a little bit and rechecked the codes.

All the heater circuits are working, but now there is no voltage to that second upper o2 sensor but the heater circuit still works. I thought maybe the o2 sensors had messed up, so i tried my backup one that i have and know it works. But nothing, still got the no voltage error. so i checked the fuses in the glove box all good.

Any ideas?

Im thinking that he might have to replace the o2 wires that go to the dme, or maybe that wire got melted somewhere else, or maybe theres a loose connection at the dme.

Check for voltage at the o2 connector, if no voltage, check wires from o2 connector to dme.
Give me the last 7 of the vin if you want a writing diagram. Witch sensor is giving you problems?

Don't have his vin on me, maybe tomorrow. It's the 2nd pre cat o2 sensors, the one on cylinders 4-6.

Can you explain which wires to check? Or give me a link.
