I think im going to do this just need to talk to my local tuners and see what they have to say and how much its going to cost me... so far its looking good

I think these would be even better on a 3l because they would not suffer as much because the dip should be at lower rpm...

Performance cams are expensive, you can get a set of ZHP cams for about 400$... I'm pretty sure they would make about 5-10 HP.

i can get copies ground for about $800 locally... the place that will cut me some makes cams for most of the race teams here so they have proven they can do the job well... i wont bother with zhp cams too small a gain for the effort i think...

sorry Iceman00 i was wrong about the torque figure its not as simple as i thought you cant just take the N figure and drop the last 0 to get Nm they completely different units

I have found a formula that works using the power figure to calculate torque

Torque [Nm] = 9549 x Power [kW] / Revs [rpm]

so using the graph where peak torque is at 4000rpm

Torque [Nm] = (9549 x 127 [kW]) / 4000 [rpm]
Torque [Nm] = 303Nm at the wheels

so then it has 223ftlb at the wheels

so is it 303/0.85=~356Nm at the flywheel? quite impressive 245Nm in stock...

So cams are worth It on the 323 series from what Im reading.

I wonder how that would play with Ebay headers ,full catback exhaust (no cats) ,cai ,Tms pulleys, and a Shark Injector.

A little, but I think you mean *retards cam timing, As in, it keeps the valves closed a bit longer.
