MY 320I STALLS AFTER DRIVING 200km in the high tempereture

Hi Guys, My 2002 BMW 320I E46 F/L stalls and even stops running after driving for about 200km in hot conditions, this does not happen when it is cold like in the evening. I was told it was the fuel filter which I replaced but the problem still persists. I went to a BMW specialist in queenstown who used a computer to check the faults but said it did not show any faults. He however said the computer showed him there was something wrong with the mass air flow meter. Some guys are saying it might be the fuel pump or the coil. if it is the mass air flow meter, does cleaning it sort the problem out? Please help I cant afford to buy the wrong part.
