So who drives a modded SGM e46 M3 that was at the Porsche 991 launch last night? One of your LED license plate lights is burned out.

Hey guys! Been a while since ive checked into this thread. Anyway im going to be bringing my car in soon for some service and was wondering what shop you would recomend. Ive been to JB Eurotech but they are kinda expensive. Ive got 2 more options im looking into. Imola in Golden Valley and Orr Autosport in Wayzata. What do you guys think about or know about these shops. Is there any upside or downside to either of them. Hope someone can chime in a good answer.

Both are great shops, and you wouldn't go wrong with either. If I were doing race prep work, I'd go to Orr. If I were doing something related to vehicle modding, I'd go to Imola.

BMW of Minnetonka > Motorwerks in Bloomington

Just had my tail lights fixed under the recall by BMW. I had a very pleasant experience at BMW of Minnetonka. Something I have never been able to say about Motorwerks in Bloomington. The service guys were awesome and I was even invited to come back and look at my car on the lift so they could show me a few other things that need to be fixed. I prefer this method than for them just to tell me what needs to be fixed. I was even approached by several salesmen asking me if I had questions on anything or if I wanted to look at some cars. That has never happened to me at Motorwerks. I am ususally ignored there. One of the techs even hand washed my car when they were done with it because they thought it would be too low to go through their car wash. Over all the tail light fix took about an hour and now my tail lights work. Thank you BMW of Minnetonka.

BMW of Minnetonka is a very nice place but im not about to pay them $120 just to pull the car into the service bay and take a flashlight to the underside. Dont get me wrong, they have good service and offer neat complimentary items but not good prices on service. I do buy a few parts there once in a while though.

Depends on what you want to get done....

BMW of Minnetonka > Motorwerks BMW

Imola is a great shop for service/modification. I've been Imola many times, great service & repair.

J&B Eurotech is very knowledgable about E46's in particular, thanks to Seth. They have the auto logic computer so they can diagnose just like the dealer.

Orr Autosport is more of a race-prep shop, they are good at what they do, but they do charge a significant amount.

Im looking to have a couple clunks and vibrations addressed. I dont have the time or the means to dig into them any deeper than i already have. Depending on what the issues are i may even just have the shop do the work. I have an itch that my rtab in the driver side is toast but in order to do that you need the puller, it has to be preloaded and car aligned. With all that being said a one stop inspect and repair may be easier. The vibration i think is somewhere between the clutch and diff. IDK where though. Cant get under there to get a good look.

I walked out without paying a dime. They notified me of potential problems and I acknowledged it and I'll probably take care of them my self.

Take it to Imola or J&B Eurotech and have it properly diagnosed and repaired. RTAB are a easy DIY btw. If your car has over 80,000 miles you should probably just replace the RTAB by now...

Hi guys, I just bought my first BMW this weekend and made it home after 15hr driving. Hope to meet with you guys. I'm thinking to take it to BMW of Minnetonka for an oil change and check up because the Service Engine Soon light came on while I was driving home last night. How much it cost to do the oil change at the dealer, I have all the tools on my garage but for the first time I would like to do it there and let me check the car and let me know what I need.
