How to change reverse lights on e46.

Got a burnt out reverse light and i havent figured out how to change it. Anyone hav any links how to.

probably need to take out the inside cover.

open trunk, pop out 4 grey plastic rivets. then unplug connector (if you want), then push tabs to pop out bulb carrier. replace bulbs and do the reverse.

or you can click on the tech section of this site and look for how to change to clears. just only look at the reverse light area.

I've always thought this was odd. Typically, the bulbholder would be accessible without removing a large trim panel (as easy as it is to take out, it's not the sort of thing the average owner expects to do just for a bulb).

The average owner does not have to do it. My car is almost 10 years old with original backup lights, and that's not unusual.

^ I overlooked that! They're on such a short time compared to, say, taillights.

you have to replace the cv boot first.
