18x8 zhp replica tire size question for 2004 325xi

I am in the process of acquiring zhp reps for my 2004 325xi and have a question regarding tire size. Currently, I have style 137 17x7 (OEM sport package setup) which I will retain for winter use. I am wondering what the ideal tire size would be for the 18x8 setup.

I will likely get aftermarket suspension to lower my car 1.5" but I also want to retain cushion for poor roads. I am thinking either 235/40/18 or 225/40/18. Would there be any reason to choose another size? I am looking at Conti, Michelin and Goodyear. Does anyone have a similar setup?

Both sizes are ok. 225 is OEM size, I would pick 235 for little more comfortable ride and better looks.

Thanks lab, in particular I am looking at Continental Extreme Contact DWS (high performance all seasons)

Go with the 225/40/18, I currently have that size on my 18x9 wheels and they are great. It will also be a few bucks cheaper than the 235s

I run 235/40/18 on the fronts, I like the look more than 225's.
