cant depress clutch

I was driving normally on the highway when I couldn't depress the clutch anymore. Any ideas what would cause this.

Start with hydraulic - master / slave clutch cylinders, hoses. If not that - it becomes much more complicated and require transmission drop to figure out.

Would this happen because the fluid is blocked or leaked out. The brake fluid container is full. Also is there anyway to test these items to see which one failed.

unbolt slave cylinder from transmission (from underneath of car) and ask a buddy to depress the clutch. Of the rod moves and no leaks - when hydraulic works.

Check the lines for leaks then check the master slave clutch cylinder, for any obvious signs of leakage. Should be noticeable because the paint surrounding will be jacked, if it is leaking you can replace that. If not move to the slave clutch which should be closer to the tranny housing and do what was recommended in the previous post.

We ended up taking it to Bavarian Auto Werke in Orland Park, IL. The guy is great. The clutch pad was shredded. He showed me the part. He rebuilt the clutch for under $700 (included parts). I thought it was a pretty good price and I would recommend him. A little bit of a drive. So, let me ask the pros.

Fair Price

Over Price

Great Price

I haven't had a problem since.
