Auto-X on Michelin Pilot A/S
I'm a novice Auto-Xer and I was wondering, does anyone Auto-X on Michelin Pilot A/S tires?
I'd be running 205/50-17 on my 330i. Will these be decent tires? I'm not out to win, just have a good time. |

I have done several events on these tires.
I did not win any of them ![]() I did have fun but the shoulders of the Pilot Sport A/Ss seem to be very very soft and loose chunks of rubber especially on a crappy surface. My advice is do one event on the Michelins and if you like autoX then get some Falken Azenis Sports. You should be able to get all four installed for ~650. You can drive on these daily (even in serious rain with standing water), put your Michelins in the garage for later use, and have a lot more fun. I have run a lot of different tires in a short period of time. I think that if you are going to do 5-10 autoXs a year you should consider getting a cheap (perhaps curbed) set of wheels and running seperate autoX wheels. If you get to this point I think Kumho Victoracers are a very good bang for the buck. Take care, Quote:

i ran all of last season on s03's .. you'll be fine.. no reason to spend the money on R compounds when your just starting out.. you'll have plenty of fun on the street tires.. but sooner or later after your hooked you'll end up with R compounds.. I did.. hehe.. i can't wait for this season.. i was winning on street tires.. i should do very well this year on R compounds
