When will the average life expectancy reach its max?

This is a topic I think about every now and then. Given todays advances in medicine, personal care, entertainment, working conditions, and food nutrition at what point will the average age at death reach its max?

Honestly I think its all genes, in your genetics. My great grandmother lived to be 95yrs old. But her daughter passed at 45yrs. old. However my grandma walked every day. I think the medicine made her slow down.

I heard it's expected someone currently living will make it to 150.

OP, average life expectancy will reach its max around 120-130 years when:

1. Cardiac arrest is better understood and preventative medicine is found.
2. Cure for cancer is found.

The rest of the health problems is of minute importance compared to these two, and only affects a fraction of the population as the primary cause of death.

At the rate of an additional 15 years per century, I'd say there is no limit. It's just going to keep going up when bacteria and viruses are no longer of concern, when cancer becomes more treatable, when cellular aging and breakdown is slowed, as genetic defects are prevented, etc...

When we can teach cells how to die and teach other cells how not to die. As nanotechnology develops more, immortality could very well be a reality.

Ive read somewhere that the key to slowing down death is slowing cell growth. As we all know, cells grow and make us grow, but they reach an endpoint and die off. The body can only produce so many cells in its lifetime. If there was only a straight forward way to slow cell growth...

Or perhaps humans are able to allow the body to keep repairing and replicating cells thus limiting/ending cell expiration.
