So you, as well as ABC are claiming now that the ONLY eye witnesses are LYING? You do realize that it makes it even harder to prosecute him, since now there IS NO evidence. Furthermore, the cops stated he was bloodied up as well.

for general self defense in most jurisdictions, its a two part test.

Did the victim subjectively feel threatened for his life?
Would a reasonable person also feel threatened?

If yes, then no. its manslaughter.
If Yes, yes, no criminal act.

Its very possible that Zimmerman felt afraid for his life, but a reasonable person would not. That scenario really creates a tough job for the DA to prosecute...

The video isn't particularly clear; while it looks like Z's nose could be swollen (refrain Pinocchio jokes), we can't tell it isn't either. Furthermore, at no point in the video do we get a clear shot of the back of his head to determine one way or the other.

It's also worth noting that ABC continues to show dated pictures (three different ones) of the Hollister 12 year old. And now that they've established that Z is no longer "portly", does that mean they'll stop airing the pic of him in an orange jumpsuit? Doubtful. They have a misleading narrative to protect, ya know...

Only you can answer that question; the answer will vary from person to person. Turning the question on its ear: will you lose consciousness and be curb stomped if you shoot the person who is beating you? That answer will always be no. Perhaps that helps you decide.

When you are getting beaten in a fight, when can you begin acting as if it's a life threatening situation? What are the prerequisites?

My favorite two pictures of Trayvon are the Hollister and snowboarding pictures. HEY LOOK HE'S BASICALLY A WHITE KID PEOPLE!!!!!!

To be honest, media bias and race baiters are my only interest in this case. I could care less if Zim goes to jail. However I doubt "Latino shoots black thug wanna-be" would be a thrilling headline.

I am sorry, I cannot help myself any longer. Lair (aka Jesse Jackson, perhaps?) and 'busa (aka Al Sharpton?), you really are that gullible. No matter how much all of your conspiracy theories are discredited you still have your minds made up. Notice I did not say disproved, because I wasn't there - and neither were you - I cannot declare with certainty what happened. All I read from either of you are hypothetical what-ifs that are not in the same hemishpere as the evidence thus far produced in the media.

No. It isn't. Unless you were being punched by Alistair Overeem... Could death occur? Sure. Death could occur if someone pushed you in the shoulder and you slipped. That doesn't mean you shoot them.

Don't you have a background in martial arts? I'm surprised you would say this. I've seen many individuals capable of producing permanent brain trauma in a single blow, and they weren't professionals either. I've seen dudes get dropped viciously in bar fights/street fights, from single punches, and were hospitalized afterwards. After that first shot, your life is at his mercy.

Pretty much agree with that. I consider Zimmerman's actions to be stupid, at a minimum, and possibly crimimal depending on details that we may never know 100%. But I don't see anything substantive to label his actions as racist. I know that racist people exist and they do violent things. But the extent to which so many people are willing to DECLARE racism in this case just makes them look like useful idiots.

I think him assuming martin was a thug instead of a kid just walking to the store is a bit racist and what peaked his interest.
