Too stretched?

Will 225 x 45 tire be too much of a stretch on 8.5" rim?
Any Photos to share? Tks.

I think you'll be fine. I'm running 225's up front on my OEM 19x9.5 Square setup

225 on 8.5 should be fine. barely any stretch and will be barely even noticeable.

235/35/18 is the perfect fit for that rim.

I usually run a 235 (which is perfect) on my 8.5 on the front which sits flush with the rim lip, but I traded some parts i had laying around for some 225's since I needed new front tires. Here is a 225 on 8.5

I have 225's on my front wheels which are 8.5 wide, and 245's on the rears which are also 8.5. The 225's are worn out and I will be moving the 245 from the rear up front, and running 255's on the rear until I'm eventually running 255 square Direzza Z1 Star Specs. 225 is a slight stretch, but no problem at all. I would go wider if you can.
