can these tires fit

hello everyone ..I havent really posted anything but I find this such a great site..Iwas thinking of putting some 17 onch rims on my 2005 320i and was wondering if rims from 2005 z4 (105 series) with 255/35/17 tires in the back and front with 225/35/17 .
thanks for your input.. John

I think 35 series tires are too narrow for 17's; maybe go with 40/45 series

By Narrow do you mean the profile maybe too low.. 35 is the height of the tire.. percentage of width ?.. Maybe the ride will be too stiff with factory suspencion ect. thanks

Yes I am referring to the sidewall being to short. On a 17" i believe those specs will make the entire wheel look way too small and actually increase the fender-to-wheel gap.

Check out this link I believe he is on 255/40/17 all around and fitment looks perfect.
