What to look for on newer 328/335

My daughter is looking at several 2007/2008 328/335 and I need a few pointers on areas she should look out for. I know about the 325 issues with the cooling/trans and the rear suspension mounts. I am just not familiar if there is the same issues with the newer ones. She is looking for something with 40-50k miles. She is moving on this pretty quick and lives out of state so any pointers would help... Thanks!

I went to E-90 forum and sat for 2 days with no responses....very little action there. The guys here @ E-46 are much more helpful and thought I would give it a try... Guess I will tell her to buy something and deal with it...If you saw her picture you would drive to Las Vegas and help her buy it!

Why does E90 forum have no response? I wonder why...

I would not advise this, if you love her. High Pressure Fuel Pumps were a major issue with the 335, not the 328 if I remember correctly. I don't know for sure, but I think BMW issued a recall to fix the issue and/or extend the warranty, but make sure you/she do the research. You need to replace the entire fuel tank assembly to replace the fuel pump and if memory serves its upwards of $6,000.

Now, aside from the hpfp there aren't many more common issues that come to mind. I think a bunch suffered from faulty passenger air bag sensors.

Why not find her a good,low mileage, *well maintained* e46 and save some money (and get a better car, in my opinion)?

Go with an e46! They are better cars, handle better, look better, feel more quality, etc. The only problem with e46's is that they are just about impossible to tune, but that doesnt seem like what your daughter is going to need.

maybe if OP posted pictures with phone number of daughter, then E46 would be more likely to help said daughter purchase a car.

If she has no idea what she's doing, then get a PPI. If she wants to know what to look for, tell her to go search on E90post. If she wants to buy an 03 330i ZHP, though, this is the place to come to for abuse.

I already got more information from here than I did at E90 That is why I threy it up here... You guys are much more helpful and classy
