When to get software

So is a software tune such as the conforti more a "top off" tune so to speak? Meaning should it be the last mod to do after your done with all else like exhaust, headers, and intake? I am almost ready to pull the trigger on the conforti but if I'm not quite done with bolt-ons and such, should I wait? Thanks guys!!
P.S. Couldn't forcing the engine to rev to 7,000 rpms eventually burn the engine? For some reason that never seemed safe to me.

Shark was my first mod. It will adapt as you mod more.

I hit 7k daily and have done so for 120k on the car. It has 162k on it.

No need to hit it if you aren't making power there, though.

Oh I see. Thanks for you input, so do you feel that 'extra 7hp' and is your throttle more responsive? I am just making sure all the benefits are legitamate for $350+.

It's legit, buy it, you won't be sorry.

1) Quicker Throttle Response
2) Top Speed Limiter Revoved

tunes don't really "adapt" - the closed loop O2 operation will bring your fuel back to the lambda targets, but ignition timing is really what gets optimized for power on an OBDII engine and that will remain fixed no matter the mods.

but, they're mostly all canned tunes anyway, so it really won't make a difference if you do it first or last. me, I'd do it first.

When are the harmonics really an issue? You make it sound like transients in the 7k range aren't a concern. Are the pumps only breaking in track use, when rpms are held in that range? Has anyone had a pump break from street use?

Yep. Problems are from holding the revs, not just hitting them. I believe someone has posted that anything above 6k will cause issues if you hold it.
