Maybe I'll need to get myself a cheap little scissor lift.

this is how most of my car has been built, I highly recommend this experience to any devoted car enthusiast. good luck, cant wait to see it develop. My vote: it should be lsb.

there's a certain romance to jack stands

I highly recommend this harbor freight jack

Its going to be hard to find a LSB M3 to gut out and do this too, but I can always paint or wrap it!

2001 was a year rich in lsb production... Though those cleaner cars may drive a premium... though my vote settles for repaint or wrap

Sorry, I should have further elaborated.. a scissor lift in general is cheap when compared to a built in two post lift, thats what I meant.

Nope, I'm likely going to go for the world record in that car then put the drag racing on hiatus for the summer so I can enjoy the car, then come winter prep it for next years MFest where we will go for 9's.

This second car will be a completely different project.

Gotcha. I took "will still be running 9s" to imply it had already been done. Making sure I hadn't missed an e46 9 second pass.

Hope some of us locals can hang at your place during the build. Kalim's place has no good food nearby.

By "Still running 9s" I believe Marcus meant he's not abandoning the effort to run a nine second pass in his LSB street car. He is not claiming he has run a nine second pass yet!
From watching the video it's obvious the car is capable of running a nine with some simple bolton improvements and better ECU magic.

It came out of the hole like a arthritic grandma, spun the tires hard before the 60' mark, and had only two gear changes (can it shorter diff gears). No anitlag, no launch control, no traction control, no flat shift, no gear dependent boost. You can fit better slicks under it. The car is also really heavy .. like full street weight.

So many ways to make it quicker and faster.

Not arguing semantics or that it can or can't be done. Just was wondering if I had missed a 9 second pass. I agree that car is definitely capable of it.

Yup we've got a record 10.4 in it as it sits now.. on a proper track/day but we've got some other stuff up our sleeve to get it into the 9's. I just don't want to spoil the fun for mfest next year.. the car is 9's capable but with only 3 weeks time we just didn't have time.

Sorry, yup.. meant we're going to go for 9's next year at MFest. No 9's have been achieved yet.
