I have no idea where to even start...
1st STOP messing with your ca you will cause more damage... 2nd sound like a bus issue what is your voltage at the K-bus splice. 3rd STOP TRYING to program things this WILL NOT fx your issue. VIN mileage ext in the cluster have nothing to do with your issue!

OP, I know how frustrating it can be when you are trying to do something and it doesn't work out.
I remember, once I pulled the relay on the e-fusebox to check something. My car didn't start after putting it back on and I had to reset the DME adaptations to get it started. Took me a good 2 hours to finally try that step. PA soft doesn't have much instructions so I would be weary about trying something that might render your car useless. PAsoft is powerful enough to cause permanent damage to the electronics in our cars. And I would like to say, when you post; use punctuation and divide your post into simple sentences and paragraphs. It is very difficult to understand when everything is in a long single line. English is my third language, so (maybe it is just me but) it is difficult for me to comprehend long sentences. Also, post the codes and description so you will get more definite answers. Just saying my DSC light is ON will not give you any responses. We have good people here to help you if you ask the right question.

ok. Sorry everybody about my write ups and not being clear and understandable. Im sorry when i started this post alot of stuff in my car were not working. Brake,ABS,DSC,and Transmission warning light were on also. A/C was not engaging either. I replaced the instrument cluster with used one i got online. After installation of cluster A/C started working and all warning lights went out execpt the DSC light.
I don't mind having the wrong mileage showing on the dash. I don't mind having the Tamper Dot showing on the dash. The DSC light on was the issue I wanted to figure out. Read alot of forums about DSC light being on. Came accross one where a guy was telling another guy the reason his DSC light was on was because his VIN in the used cluster he installed didn't match the VIN that the DSC uses. I don't know if this is true or not. That was only post i read about that. So after reading that maybe wrong VIN programmed in to instrument cluster will cause the DSC warning light to come on, I then decided to try and write my VIN to the used instrument cluster. After tring few times was unable to write my VIN to used instrument cluster. |

VIN doesn't affect the DSC. If that was the case then every car that has new DSC unit or sensor should have DSC light ON. I am not sure why are you not posting the codes for the DSC.

will bmw scanner 1.4 read trouble codes for the DSC? I thought that this scanner wouldn't read codes for the DSC? So i didn't even check them. Didn't remember seeing DSC on the module list. But will be checking it again.

You could try recodeing and aligning the steering angle sensor I suspect you will be repalcing it, but without further testing hard to say

Vector:
One of my intermittent cluster problems is that my temp gauge reads full hot. When that happens, the AC compressor won't start. When I wiggle the connector just right, the temp. gauge registers normally and the compressor works normally. Apparently, the AC compressor will not start if your cluster sends a signal to the ECU that the engine temp is hot (near or in the red). My Ebay cluster doesn't work at all and I burnt an irreplaceable small electrical component when I soldered a replacement capacitor backwards. I tried to use the one from the Ebay cluster but damaged it upon removal. More problems. I'll be watching this thread to see what you come up with. Good luck. just been reading forums and read few places now that not the DSC unit uses VIN from cluster but the Steering angle sensor checks id or the cluster VIN. wonder if this is issue with my DSC light coming on?

Vector, I am no pro, but if you get a code that indicates the steering angle sensor is bad, then I would try changing that, if you do not want to spend the cash on a new one, try the junk yard, hopefully you get a good one, change it out and see what happens. But I would start with the sensor, since you are getting a specific code that points to it being bad, just my worthless $.02.
