Hello Everyone,
I have a question that I need to be resolve asap. I bought rims thinking they were 18x8.5 ET 40 front and 18x9.5 ET45 in the rear. but then I remember that since it was a gift from someone else to me, checking back after I bought the tires for me thinking of those sizes , I find out that I bought 18x8.5 ET 40 square. Now I bought these tires sizes: Front: 235/40ZR18 XL Rear: 255/35ZR18 XL Now I need to figure out if these will fit my rims otherwise I will be selling them , they are brand new, just got them from tirerack.com couple of days ago. Or what is the perfect size for tire that you guys would recommend ? I have a stock suspension , 325i. Please help me. and give me a tire size. Should I keep the fronts and maybe try to return the rear tires or exchange them for the same size as front? if I have a square setup, do I need same size of tires for front and back?? Please assist me. Thank you very much. If you say that these tires will fit my rim's , could you explain if it will look funny or how will it look or what difference will it be between my rear and front? Please assist me. I know I'm stupid ![]() , I should had check before buying those tires. Thanks in advanced |

i'm pretty sure it would fit. as for how it would look... i'm really not sure.
those 255's will look pretty meaty on a 8.5 wheel but it will fit. i would try to either return the 255's or sell them to a local tire shop in exchange for 235's. any tire shop should be able to match tire racks prices.

I have 255/35/18 on 8.5" rims and they fit fine. They don't look too meaty either.

Are those the widths for those wheels? For some reasoning thought it was 18"x8" and 18"x9"
If that's the case then yeah 255 look totally fine on a 8.5 inch wheel. That's what my dad has on his e90. You can run those tire specs. Maybe the only downside is more understeer and the lost ability to rotate tires. Keep that in mind.

Let me summarize the original post:
- he bought a set of staggered wheels - he bought a set of tires where the fronts were 10mm wider than stock - he received a square set of wheels as a gift Now: - he is thinking about selling something (not sure what, could be any of the above three things) - he has a 325i with one of the stock suspension options (not sure which one)

I think I can summarize it maybe a bit better.
Let me summarize the original post: - I though I receive a set of staggered wheels (18x8.5 ET 40 front and 18x9.5 ET45 in the rear) BUT NOT - I bought a set of tires for the staggered wheels (Front: 235/40ZR18 XL Rear: 255/35ZR18 XL ) - I received a square set of wheels as a gift (18x8.5 ET 40) Now: - I'm thinking about selling the rear tires or will these tires size fit my square set up or what do you guys recommend? - I have a 325i with stock suspension meaning no sport suspension. |

Absolutely will fit fine and will look fine as well. Either keep current setup or ditch the rears and get matching rears
