For those of you who have added HK

i just got a HK system and I was wondering for those of you who put it in, how did you get that HiFi mode to work? Some people said that the amp automatically defaults to the HiFi mode but I just took apart my loaner 325ci and unplugged that whole switch assembly and the sound went out of HiFi. Is there away around running new wires up to the front and getting a new switch console?

Its that button by the Heated seats and DSC that has a speaker symbol. I think they call it surround mode or Hi-Fidelity mode. when i press the button, i get for of a 360* sound from the speakers as opposed to when it's off.

Unable to find button

Other than a salvage yard I was told by a few sources that this button is no available to be retrofited. The button is either a single switch or part of a complete control module that fits in that slot depending upon what year your car is.
I would like to find that DSP(HK) button and run the wires to the amp too.

i know you have to get a whole new switch panel for the button, but the major thing would be running the wires back to the amp which is something I really don't want to do. I have the BMW electrical CD, maybe if I give it a constant 12v it will go to HiFI mode because I remember in my last E36, the switch needed a constant 12 volts for the amp to go to HiFi mode. But i'll check it out on the CD and see what's what.
