It's No Cost. Funny BMW Commercials

BMW released two new 30 second spots touting the automakerís Ultimate Service policy, which features no-cost maintenance program coverage on all new BMWs for the first 50,000 miles or four years of ownership. The companyís no-cost maintenance program is unmatched in the premium vehicle category and highlighted in each of the spots by customers who do not believe a service advisor when told their maintenance is no cost and mistakenly think they are being given special treatment, leading to an awkward and humorous situation.

You know what's really funny about those commercials? The idea that BMW is actually providing maintenance at "no cost." A more accurate description would be pre-paid maintenance.

Baha. Only up to 50K too? All of these other car places slapped a 100k or 10 year warranty on their product long ago. Sucks BMW doesn't trust their cars enough to do the same. They drive awesome, they maintain like a hooker.

Maintenance and warranty are two totally different things.

True that, but how long does their warranty last?

Indeed.

Plus, at the oil change interval of 15k miles, that's 3 oil changes, one set of brake pads and maybe 2 or 3 sets of windshield wiper blades ... what else do they cover? Not much that I can work out ...

Basically they're telling you that you get 500 dollars worth of maintenance "free".

This is the most true statement I have heard this week.
