buying a used HPF M3
Just thought i would share my experience with buying a used HPF e46 m3 stage 2.5
Well 1st i never saw the car other than pics. Scary I got a lawyer to be the middle man I had the car shipped to HPF at my expense to be inspected. Im very happy with that decision. I received the car last week. Wow this thing is fast. Ive driven LMP V8 Prototypes and this is as powerful.

Anyone looking at buying a used HPF i can share some of the things i learned.
5000 spent at HPF getting sorted as it had about 20k since the engine and kit were done about 2.5 years ago. Seems the car needed some attention in making sure it was reliable. Needed a new clutch too. I wasn't planning on that and should have negotiated that in the price but i had already paid for the car by the time it was driven. The side skirts were damaged and so was the front splitter . I just got some new side skirts and will have them painted and installed in the next few weeks. Still looking for a good splitter that can handle real down force. the one thats on it I'm scared will blow off as i don't see any real support. The car needs some down force upfront as it wants to lift while accelerating at higher speeds Ill post some pics soon.

I had the car leak down tested and verified the motor was in good shape.
The exhaust gaskets needed changing from the manifold back to and including the turbo nd waste gate New oil and plugs. Plugs that were in it were the wrong ones All new couplers and elbows etc.. New 4inch air intake replaced New turbo to intercooler piping as it was dented and failing New meth pump and relay Stage 2 clutch Added catch can HPF did a thorough job and dynoed the car as well as street tested it. KIRK also putup with me pestering him daily to get the car done. Lol

Whn buying a used car ur going to run into some problems sooner or later. Well here r my sooner ones
Car has some idle issues that just started. It stalls after 10 min at idle so ive ordered idle control valve. Ive driven the car a few hundred miles. Front left headlight is out. Replaced xenon bulb but that's not it so I've ordered a ballast and igniter to fix the problem as i cant get the inspection done without it and that means no insurance and plates so the car is just waiting

Copy of the dyno numbers. the top two are the ones I'm running. The bottom two were tests done with more boost but it did not make any more power. So the car is running 17 psi on pump an 23 in pump and meth. I did not have HPF run race gas numbers as its plenty fast as it is

Is this Funkyboy's Vert? I personally couldn't sleep at night if I had sold you my car with that many issues...glad you got it all sorted though and hopefully you get this idle bug figured out. SMG or 6speed?

Yes it was his vert. To his credit He was very good in making up for some of the issues HPF discovered but as for the damaged side skirts , rear bumper hanging down, and splitter as well as clutch and other misc things found out after the sale. I have not heard back from him.
