Dave, would you agree that you don't fit in the "young men" category?

Sure. I'm sort of the token old guy.

If by "young" you mean "immature," then yes.

Most of my clothes are fitted with tearaway velcro seams, like NBA warm-ups or male stripper pants. It saves a lot of time.

Excellent. It's funny what things people will notice at the office. A few weeks ago I snapped my left index finger at boxing. It was broken at the top joint, so there's not much to be done. I have been wearing a band-aid around the joint to keep me from bending it too much (I don't want to wear a splint because I type all day long). I ran out of regular band-aids so lately I've been busting out the kids' band-aids. I rotate between Disney Princesses, Phineas and Ferb, and Spongebob.

One day I forgot to put a band-aid on before I headed to the office. Our receptionist noticed immediately and told me that she always looked to see what band-aid I was wearing when I would stand by her desk (holding my iPhone in my left hand) to tell her my appointments for the day. So now it's sort of a running joke with us.

I haven't played golf in a couple of years. I'd like to get back into it.

Just like I'd like to get back into about a dozen hobbies I've been passionate about over the years but left behind for one reason or another (spelled "parenthood" and "having a job").

I think 514s would be too slim for me, although I've never tried them on. How much slimmer are they than the 501s?

i wanted to try on the 501s for comparison but didn't get around to it
after trying on 5 different pairs of jeans ... i was getting way too hot and sweaty in the dressing room to bother
i did try on one 505 ... and the 514 was slightly trimmer in the hip and thighs compared to the 505

Catching a train at 5am so I can catch a plane at 7am is not my preferred way to start a Monday morning.

I haven't owned a pair of argyles in years (probably not since I was a teenager). I'm starting to like them again.
