My Build Thread

Just an update...put in a metal water pump, brakes, tstat, and a bunch of other parts. Next upgrades will include a 330 front caliper swap and new front struts with lowering spring perches Should be fun

Just an update for this lackluster build thread

I had my ET blow up on me about a month ago Got it towed and swapped in a new one that I already had waiting (thanks to Drewdown!)

Within the last week, I got ZHP shocks and struts, new strut mounts, Rogue Engineering rear shock and spring reinforcement plates, OEM front strut reinforcement plates, M3 RTABs and limiters, and a couple other miscellaneous bits. Thanks to Drewdown for all the hours of help

amazing progress so far man! mind letting us know what resistor-less bulbs you used in your front turn signals? my chrome bulbs barely give off any light

They would throw errors when it was cold out, so I had my cold bulb check programmed out. Good quality, otherwise, and bright. I contacted LEDautomotive about the problem and they sent out resistors for all the bulbs, no questions asked. I run one set in my front corners, and another set in my reverse lights.

M3 RTABs and limiters. Review of the setup will come soon!


It's sitting a little higher than it used to. Might have to fix that


We reinstalled everything taking note of the old locations...went to get it aligned and everything was still in spec

Looks really nice. Much improved despite no major changes - that's how you do it.

I would suggest clear front corners again, but this time to it correctly and get OEM so they don't melt. Silver-gray looks good w/ clears, and you've already got them installed on the sides and rear.

I've considered getting OEM clears but if I did, I know I would want LED bulbs again. I don't know, I'm on the fence. I like the look of it both ways.

Back when it was on collapsed shocks, people were asking me what suspension I was running

Love the progress. Your car looks so clean and that M-Tech II bumper really brings it together. As far as the clear corners are concerned, I'm sort of indifferent. I run them on my Silver-Grey 330i, but I think the amber doesn't necessarily look too bad with our paint. However, considering the fact that you already have clear sides and tail lights, I think a set might not be a bad idea. Forget the LEDs. The only LEDs I will run on my 330i are for the license plate and I have enough trouble with those to begin with. Get chrome bulbs and you'll be set.

Thanks! Ya like I said I'm on the fence about it. I don't mind the ambers at all, but then again everything else is clear. I would rather take the money I would spend on the clears and put it towards something else.


I've considered but I'm not sure how my shocks and struts would react to it.

I completely understand allocating the money towards something more important. And regarding the shocks, that's why I'm using my blown out original suspension as an excuse to replace it with H&R race springs and Bilstein sport shocks.
