yeah, i was wondering about that. the spring should have rebounded once the weight is off the wheel, especially if it's being pulled down by the weight of everything attached to the strut. It seems that it's binding, or something is not allowing it to decompress.

The saga continues. I've removed and reinstalled the fronts, making sure everything was done properly, but to no avail. Still not going any lower then it did before. I dont know if it's the coilovers or something else. So I took out the helpers and that definitely helped. The front goes drastically lower. The only issue is that when front wheels are raised off the ground the springs is loose. I think I'm gonna pick up some thinner helper springs. Hyperco has some helpers that collapse down to 1/2" or so and are about 4" at full length.

What if you just kept the helper removed, and raised the height on the coils just enough to keep the spring slightly compressed when the wheel is raised.

I tried that, but it raised the front higher than it was previously.

So we both purchased underengineered coilovers? Let me know what helper spring replacement you decide to go with.
I should have this kit mounted within the next 2 weeks. |

I'm not sure if it's the coilovers, the car, or my brain that's under engineered. I seem to be the only one with the problem among st owners. Already ordered hyperco 2.5" ID helpers from amazon. I'll update the fit and functionality once their in. Good thing those st's are a breeze to slap on. You don't even need spring compressors. I can probably do the instal in an hour by now.

i got my st's from sonic ms and the wheels in the back (back right on the gas tank side) scrapes the clip on the fender from being so tucked in. he said that they could remove the helper springs from the fronts to lower it even more but i need to sign a weaver which would fu*k up the warrenty... but anyway if you want more low in the front remving the helper springs is the way to go. the guy there has a m5 and he removed the helper springs as well and no problems, even said there not needed but say bie bie to your 3 year warrenty... im not sure if i want to go with it or what.

Yeah, I'm actually running w/o helper springs right now and it dropped the car quite a bit. The only thing is when the front wheels are lifted off the ground the spring becomes loose and may shift off the perch

So to kind of update the thread, I am having the exact same issue as Wes.
Not sure why this is because I've seen ST's on another car in person and it was basically slammed. Suppose he had his helpers removed then? Unfortunately I didn't get a picture taken, but it looks exactly like your car and I'm on the lowest setting. Tomorrow I will call the company and do a bit of research because this is nowhere near the advertised range of drop. As a refference point, with the ST's exactly on the middle setting, my car sat higher than the original OE (non-sport) suspension. |

I would send this picture over to ST/KW and see what they tell you. Something definitely doesn't look right. |

I have spoken to KW and believe we have reached an amicable solution.
I'll keep it at that until I actually get more updates within the following days. |

This is what I was going to recommend was calling their tech line. Typically my customers are very pleased with the max drop setting on the STs
