Amps/subs for 330 droptop?

Im looking to upgrade my factory amp and maybe put in a removable sub box that I can switch back to factory when it is taken out of car as I have NO TRUNK SPACE... I dont want to lose my spare wheel well but want to know how I can put amps in... I got a kicker amp from my suburban but it would cover up my ski hole thing. Are there small amps that maybe I could put one on each side? Has anyone done an install on a droptop? Is it worth changing amps or is the HK good enough?

Here's a nice setup:

Note: on convertibles there is only 1 sub and no separate sub amp. You must tap into the line-level wires going into the sub.

Additionally, if you use the Peripheral VENREM line-out converter you don't have to splice into the main amp for the remote switch. The VENREM has a built-in remote switch. It has a lead and ground that can be wired up easily from the trunk and a remote that goes to the amp. This makes it even easier to wire.
