You're comparing the crap drivers here in the US to the much better drivers in Germany. There is a much higher minimum standard for your typical driver, hence, why you can have such a large speed differential on the highways. The driving there in Germany is way better...you don't have a bunch of soccer moms in the left lane talking on their cell phones.

^ amen bro. I miss that place.
It amazes me how German drivers understand the concept of moving out of the way for someone who's hauling ass, but take them out of the car and on foot and they ALWAYS stop in the Fukin way of others pedestrians.

It is like a fly on the windshield of a jet fighter, it gets your attention and before you can process the data the fly zooms by you at 1200 miles per hour closing speed. In Germany in your rear view mirror you will see a flash of lights and before you can fully pull over the lights zip by you. Amazing when you are going 135 mph. Bozo's are here too, both in high speed and medium lanes.

I watched a car pull out in front of a work van, the van swerved around the car, into a ditch and flipped several times. The car just kept on going.

People just don't care.

Luckily though all 17 landscapers crawled out without injury.

Also this story would have been 20x worse to me had the dog died.
