There where 5 occupants. 4 (including a 10 year old boy) died, another occupant in the passenger seat is being treated with life threatening injuries.

I really don't get what makes people drive like that with 5 people in the car, especially when there is a young kid in the car.

I do get it: companies like BMW mythologize the perfection and invincibility of their vehicles; auto mags emphasize competition over which car went the fastest in the shortest period of time, over every other possible quality. And you poor fools fall for it, all of it.
