I guess your not reading. I'm not the mechanic, there is obviously no reason for a drill bit to be inside the head right? I wouldn't know why in the first place there is a drill bit because I'm not the one that worked on my car. Gintani did (shop in van nuys that puts used parts and scams people for their money). When I took my car out of Gintani finally, after 2 years I took it to auto talent. When I took it to Auto Talent, they diagnosed the motor with no problems, and they also didn't know why there was a drill bit in there. I guess gintani just didn't know what they were doing so that's the end of it. I don't know why it's in there. What I do know is that Gintani is one shady shop, and I've asked many people about them and heard that they have doing a lot of scamming with peoples money

The fact that you have to ask is proof that you are not even close to being able to install it in your car. It will probably cost at least another $4500 just to make it actually work.

Alright has the engine been ran with the bit inside of it? And where is the bit in the engine located? Has it caused damage?

Yes, the engine runs perfectly with no problems. The motor is not damaged in any way. Just has a bit inside the head.

Why didn't Auto Talent take the bit out?

Why don't you have the bit taken out and in turn get more money for your engine? Who the hell wants to buy an engine with a drill bit in it? Take that $hit out and put it back for sale and I can guarantee you'll sell it in no time...especially considering the low miles.

The amount of money Gintani stole from me, I wouldn't want to spend another penny on this car. I'm completely over modding a car.

I wouldn't even think twice of purchasing any motor if there is any kind of metal object that is not suppose to be there including a ****ing drill bit... We appreciate the honesty from your behalf but you should have taken the bit out and made sure everything work great and then posted it and not had said anything... Now everyone knows this motor is tainted with a drill bit.. Just sayin... Glws I really do!!! Take those ****ers to court!!

$4500.00 for a used BMW M3 engine with a drillbit somewhere in the head, and you can buy a brand new Ford Racing Coyote engine for $4800.00, all aluminum dual overhead cam 4 valve V8 putting out over 400rwhp, if I weren't so heavily invested in BMW I would be driving a Mustang, mod costs are about 25% of BMW M. Anybody wanna buy a E46 M3 and a Z4M Roadster?, I'm sick of being bent over Sandusky style.

The vibe I'm getting is that the second shop found a broken drill bit in a snapped bolt for mounting something onto the head. They were probably trying to drill it out and gave up when the bit snapped.
It sounds like the OP is not technically inclined and doesn't understand that everyone is freaking out about a bolt bouncing around with camshafts. If a second shop had found that, I think they would have just taken it out, no?

this makes a lot more sense. But if it was on the outside of the head one would think the OP could just take a quick picture of it to save all this hassle.

I mean is it really that hard to pull the VC off and find the drill bit? Usually when something is drilled there are metal shavings that come along with it...

Is the drill bit drilled into the head, or is the drill bit floating around in the head?
