need help with my harmankardon upgrade ...

I have an M3 which I like to autocross and track sometimes so weight is a concern to me. I also like to listen to music and bump loud sometimes, which is a completely conflicting interest considering speakerboxes weigh a ton. The HK audio system in my car is obviously lackluster for bumping purposes so I decided to buy some kicker 6x9 free air subs off another Fanatic.

Now, I hear you can use the stock amp to power the kicker 6x9s but they won't sound as good. The subs get like less than 40W stock if I'm correct... if the kickers got less than 40W and they're rated for 200W it would be a terrible waste.

BUT I'm also considering getting 3 JL 12" subs in an enclosure for hardcore b_umping purposes. haha. I'd OBVIOUSLY want to take these out after I'm done with them on the weekends.

So what I'm thinking is that I could get a single amplifier to power both the kickers and when necessary the JL speakerbox. I was thinkin about the JL 1000/1.

Could I just get a single huge amp and wire both systems in and disconnect the kickers when I have the JL's in?

I am really really confused as this would be my first audio install. Right now I'm 100% stock... Harman Kardon audio... nothing's bought yet except for the subs.

Thanks guys!

Oh and with a properly amplified dual Kicker 6X9 setup would I really need the 3 12's? I could get a great deal on them but the kickers might be enough with a 500W amp right?

They're rated for 200W max.

I don't bump that hard and I'm not gonna get into any SPL competitions, just wanna be able to turn it up and make everyone feel it.
