Ok here is a good one: Hawaiian BBQ. WTF?

Lemme get this straight, you guys just basically took spam, BBQ and mac and cheese from the white people, terriyaki and white rice from the Japanese and smashed everything together into this unoriginal and boring hodgepodge of foods I have already eaten before. The whole thing just seems like a waste of time.

Potato Salad.. Fatty, smelly, acrid, slimy and cold. No thanks.
Mayonnaise.. See above. Also overpowering.

the bread is there to soak up everything. traditionally, real bbq places dont serve food on plates, and give u butcher paper or newspaper as a "plate" and put the bread down then bbq on top of the bread. in restaurants with plates, the bread is just kind of a tradition so they still serve it.

Mayo is great, but can be overused to no end. When I make lobster salad, I usually use a teaspoon of mayo and a liberal squirt of lemon, toss the hell out of it... a little bit goes a LONG way

Potato salad doesn't bother me, but I usually pass on it at cookouts 9/10 times

Cooked apples are fine. I think ordering the croissants at burger king after church scarred me when I was a kid.

if youre judging croissants by the ones you got at burger king, then you're doing it wrong. croissants are awesome; they're so butter and flaky

I'm not a fan of the run-of-the-mill red or green apples.....but varieties like Fuji, Braeburn, Golden Delicious, etc. are phenomenal, in my opinion. So refreshing, crisp, tart and sweet.

That would probably scare me, too. I had a salted caramel croissant on Saturday morning and I felt like I had lost my virginity all over again when I was done, it was that good.

speaking of fast food that scarred me as a kid:
the first time i can remember ever trying fried chicken was at roy rogers. that piece of garbage was the driest, most miserable piece of meat i'd ever eaten in my life. in my impressionable 5-year old mind, i concluded that all fried chicken must taste this awful and avoided fried chicken at all costs until i was about 13 and was introduced to the glory that is kfc. i missed out on years of fried chicken goodness just because of roy rogers. i've actually been back to roy rogers a handful of times just to see if that single bad experience was just an isolated incident and the food has sucked there every single time. i've come to the conclusion that roy rogers is the worst fast food joint in the world and the handful of them that still exists needs to be shut down. fuuck roy rogers
