Can't dump the clutch 323Ci

Ever sense I've owned my 2000 323Ci vert I've had this problem with spinning the tires when I dump the clutch.

The best way I could explain it is when I rev up the engine to about 5000-6000 rpm and dump the clutch all the power goes away and it seems to ease the power onto the back wheels until the car begins to accelerate and catch up with the rpms.

At first I thought it was a CDV regulating my clutch (feels like something is governing it or holding it back), but then I learned that my model doesn't have it. So what could it be? Clutch? Throttle? Driveline? Computer delay?

Also recently I have noticed when I push the gas pedal in 2nd gear at low rpm (2000-3000) the engine will rev up then drop down as it goes into 3rd gear. Don't know if this is related or not.

Understand that this is not something I do every chance I get, I've done it maybe 2 or 3 times in over 3 years of owning the car. This is just something I've noticed, I'm wondering if it's just harmless or a big problem.

Thanks guys!

Your clutch isn't grabbing. You can't really dump the clutch on these cars... you have to feather it out. If you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to smoke the clutch and possibly ruin it completely.

You sort of got the wrong car if you want to drag race.

Don't dump your clutch...you'll dump your clutch.
